What does your bangle mean to you? 5 extraordinary women share their story.

We asked some f*cking fierce women what their bangle means to them, and their answers rocked our world.

When we started Be., we wanted to remind you that you are powerful beyond measure. It’s easy to get caught up in the day to day grind of life and forget that you are a divine and magical being who can be whoever you want to be, and achieve goals that are beyond your wildest dreams.

And that’s okay. Your bangle is there to remind you.

We wanted to check in with you to make sure we are on track with our goal, so we asked! What is it that you love about your bangle? Why did you choose the saying that you chose? What does it mean to you?

The answers knocked our socks off, and we wanted to share some of them with you. Here’s what five extraordinary women had to say.

Kimberly chose ‘Well Behaved Women Rarely Make History'

"I chose this bangle to remind myself not to sit quietly and do as society expected of me. If I want to go back to uni, be a mum and work two jobs then it's my choice and no one should hold me back." says Kimberly.

"It motivates me to get up every day, even though I'm exhausted and drives me to push just that bit harder when my day is long because of the family and my assignments due in 24hours! Also, as a mum to a beautiful daughter, I wanted her to know at a young age that women are fearless and just plain powerhouses of love, kindness and drive!"

Katie chose ‘What if I fall? Oh, but my darling, what if you fly?’

"I have been employed at the same company for a long time, mainly behind the scenes. I recently started a new role where I am customer facing, out on the road meeting clients and I am loving it. The ‘What If I Fall, Oh, But My Darling, What If You Fly?’ message is a reminder to have faith in myself and to try new things, because you never know where a new path may lead."

Sarah chose ‘Let Your Light Shine’

"My 11-year-old was given the honour of School Captain this year in grade 6. I wanted to give her something special to celebrate her achievements, so I bought her a Be. Bangle. Let Your Light Shine was chosen for my daughter to remember all the wonderful things she has within her to share with the world and that she doesn't need to hide - she can let that beautiful light inside her shine bright to hopefully bring happiness to others. She's not to be 'dulled' down by anyone. She is unique & important."

Jennifer & Paula chose ‘Be The Shiniest Fucking Unicorn In The Room’

Jennifer: "What attracted me to the bangle was the quote itself. Being an overweight woman, I used to just try to blend in. Why should I do that? Like me for who I am, not what I look like! I am a loving sister, aunt, daughter and a fierce friend. Why does my physical appearance matter? Why should I blend in when I am born to stand out?! Always, always be yourself no matter what other people think. So I will be the shiniest fucking unicorn in the room and if other people don't like it - that's fine, because I like myself, and that's all that matters to me!"

Paula: "My amazing soul sista bought me your ‘Be The Shiniest Fucking Unicorn In The Room’ for my birthday. It takes a lot to make me cry, but this gift means so so much to me!"

"You see, I’m about to go into the fight of my life. I’m blessed to be going through transplant surgery that is unique and extremely high risk, but it will be worth it. I'll get to spend my life with my six kids, friends, family, and I’ll live a life without pain from Chronic Genetic Pancreatitis. It’s a high risk for a life that I treasure dearly. My soul sista Nat came over in her PJ's to give me this amazing gift (and share a wine). To my friends and family, I am the Sparkle Rainbow Unicorn who shines bright as a beacon of hope that dreams can come true if you believe and have courage and be kind in all parts of life."

We've learned that our bangles mean something different to everyone. It’s been humbling to read some of the amazing stories you’ve shared with us and to know that our bangles can bring you strength during your daily life.

We’re about empowering you to realise that you have done extraordinary things in your life. It’s time to own up to them and quit doubting yourself. We celebrate you as the intelligent, strong and ambitious person that you are.
